Okay, it's not the "I'd Like To Give The World a Coke" holiday commercial, but it's still good to end off our round-up of the best and worst ads from Super Bowl XLI with something a little upbeat. All the while still staying true to the genre the ad is sending up. Nicely done.

Here at The Geek Beat, we really like GoDaddy.com. In fact, GoDaddy is our domain and server host. They offer fantastic prices and about as close to 100 percent uptime as is humanly possible for any server provider.

But why a domain and web host services company does these horrible commercials that objectify women, insult their customers' intelligence and aren't even that sexy, is beyond me.

GoDaddy service gets a 9 on the Geek-o-Meter. Unfortunately, we're rating the commercial, which gets a 2 on the Geek-o-Meter.

Geek-o-Meter: Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy not only scores a 10 on the Geek-o-Meter, it's also our top pick for a PSP game this holiday. Cute, clever and complex game design, terrific graphics, incredible replay value and a wicked sense of humor all make this game a winner. Its broad appeal also makes Star Wars II unique as a game appreciated equally by men and women, children and adults. And as for humor, let's just say, " The Farce Will Be With You, Always."

Today marks an important milestone in Geek Culture, one I couldn't let it pass without paying at least brief homage. It was 40 years ago today that a cheesy, low-budget TV show premiered on NBC. A show that would inspire legions of Geeks and leave a legacy of ideas so profound, it continues to influence science, technology and culture four decades later. That show is Star Trek.

Geek-o-Meter: Brother Bear 2 scores a 9 on the Geek-o-Meter. It's appealing family fun with wholesome humor, some valuable lessons for kids and a story line that’ll grab audiences of all ages. The ending is predictable but still completely satisfying and there is some genuine emotional heft to the sequel that even the original couldn't quite manage to pull off.

Call it the September surprise. But with all the Mac geeks focused on what Apple has up its sleeve for the "It's Showtime" event on September 12, the entirety of the Mac-rumor-mongering underworld completely missed the posting of several new iMac models and Mac Mini speed bumps on Apple.com this morning. But could movies on demand be in store for iTunes?

Geek-o-Meter: I'm going to give the RoverTv an "8" for effort. In my book, you get bonus points for innovation, and this is a very innovative little device that by and large exceeded my expectations. Yes, it has it's problems, the biggest among these an overly sensitive player that made outputting video to a TV screen a challenge. But, with a little practice, you can address this problem by re-encoding video through an application that RoverTv plays nicely with, like FFMPEG. Speaking of nice, it would be nice if, in the next revision, Doghouse added a jog wheel or touchscreen to control the device. And – dare I dream – a plug-in for iTunes that will allow you to use Apple's media manager to manage content directly on the RoverTv.

Despite these problems, the RoverTv is my now my favorite PMP for video playback. It's especially fun to download video podcasts meant for the iPod and play them on the RoverTv. Mmmm! That's good video!

Geek-to-Meter: The Linksys CIT200 Cordless Internet Telephony Kit is a very good way to free you from having to hang around your PC while making Skype calls. Use the included belt clip and add a headset, and you can move throughout the house or office on the phone, completely untethered.

Sound quality, though not stellar, is strong and quite clear for the most part. We expect most users will be pleasantly surprised and we're giving it an "8" on the Geek-o-Meter.

Unfortunately, T-Mobile's spotty coverage must invariably cost this excellent wireless communicator a point and drag the final score down to a "9", at least until we see this device offered by other providers or we see some improvement in T-Mobile's network.

Yes, the built-in graphics controller is weak and it would be nice to see the base configuration offer a full 1GB or RAM, but otherwise it makes a great option for students or customers short on cash but not on need. Just avoid the LCD – there are better deals to be had.
